~Home Run the movie Review~

Yay folks! So I made the cut...I am in the movie "Home Run" but I am a bit blurry! I am the nurse in the background in the hospital scenes (2 different scenes) when Cory is visiting his brother in his hospital room. I also saw myself in a baseball scene as well! I am so glad to have been a part of it and so proud to say that it was filmed in Oklahoma! It is nice to see a faith-based film in the theaters for once. I really love the opening of the movie, it really shows how pretty Okmulgee is, and it features it really well. I love the soundtrack to the movie too! There is a lot of great songs in it. I will definitely have to get the soundtrack of it!

~Here is a pic of us on the set: Scott Elrod (Cory Brand), Me (blue scrubs), an extra, Vivica Fox (Cory's agent Helene), & another extra~

If you want to see a film about finding God & redemption (and baseball!) go see it! It is worth it! It had me crying and laughing all at the same time. I am so excited to see it all together because I just saw bits & pieces when I was there for the filming. I am pleased with how it turned out!

Here is a link to the "Home Run" website...it will give you all the info on it: Home Run

I have heard from several of my friends that some of the theaters have been SOLD OUT! Praise the Lord! That is awesome! I hope a lot of people go see it! :)

Well, thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed week!

~Opening weekend of "Home Run" the movie~

I just want to remind everyone that the movie "Home Run" starring Scott Elrod & Vivica Fox will be in theaters this weekend starting Friday, April 19th! It is about finding God & redemption!

Here is the storyline:

"Freedom is Possible-

"Baseball all-star Cory Brand knows what it takes to win in the big leagues. But off the field, with memories of his past haunting him, his life is spiraling out of control.

Hoping to save her client's career and reputation after a DUI and a team suspension, Cory's agent sends him back to the small town where he grew up. Forced to coach the local youth baseball team and spend eight weeks in the only recovery program in town, Cory can't wait to return to his old life as quickly as possible.

As his young players help him experience the joy of the game, Cory discovers his need to find freedom from his past and hope for his future … and win back the love he left behind. With this unexpected second chance, Cory finds himself on a powerful journey of transformation and redemption.

Based on thousands of true stories, HOME RUN is a powerful reminder that with God, it's never too late … freedom is possible."

Also, here is the IMDB page : Home Run imdb

I was lucky to be an extra in this movie (not sure if I made the final cut or not) but I got to go hang out a couple days while it was being filmed because most of the movie was filmed in Oklahoma (not far from where I live)! I got to be a nurse (extra) in the background at the hospital and then a baseball fan in the stands at one of the baseball games that Cory is playing in (Grizzles).

~I am in the gray shirt in this pic :)~

Here is a pic of me (I am in the blue scrubs) Scott Elrod, an extra, Vivica Fox, & another extra. We took this pic after an evening meal while filming at the Okmulgee Hospital in Okmulgee, Oklahoma!

I can't wait to see it this weekend! Even if I don't end up being in it, at least I have the memories :) It was a lot of fun! I hope everyone goes to see it! I know it will be good!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a GREAT weekend! GO SEE THIS MOVIE! :)

So, I know you have probably seen these blankets everywhere but I just have to show you the one I made for my niece's 7th b-day this weekend. It.is.ADORABLE! She is the only one of my nieces & nephews that doesn't have a fleece blanket, so she is really excited about it!

I went to a local craft store and found this adorable fleece material with birds on it & I found a pretty teal/blue color to use on the backside! I think it turned out really cute! This was my 8th fleece blanket to make and I think I am a professional at it by now! LOL They are really easy to make and everyone loves them. They make great gifts!

If you don't know how to make one, and would like a tutorial, here is a link to show you how: Fleece Tie Blanket

~Valentine Mason Jars~

So I recently found these adorable Valentine's Day mason jars on Pinterest and I just had to make some! I grabbed the hubby and we went to a local craft store and got the supplies. I got two different size of mason jars, some jute ribbon, some foam hearts, and a couple sizes of cloth doilies.

They literally took just minutes to make and they are so adorable! The original jars that I saw on Pinterest were made with paper hearts and paper doilies but I just thought the foam hearts and cloth doilies jazzed them up a bit more!

I LOVE how they turned out! I think they fit right in with my other V-day decor! :) The best part is I can take them apart and change them up for the different seasons if I want!

Thanks for stopping by and looking a these festive mason jars! Have a great week!

~New Desk~

I just wanted to show you this adorable secretary desk that I got this weekend! I bought it from a little shop in town that is going out of business. They have the cutest stuff. I hate to see them go but they will continue doing business through email, Facebook, & such.

I just love the shelf in the bottom of it!

Here is a pic of the side! I just love the scalloped bottom!

Isn't it cute? I can't wait to start using it! :) I just love finding fun deals like this, don't you? I can just picture it filled with all kinds of fun items.

Well, glad you could stop by and see my newest find! I hope you have a fabulous day!

"Randy To The Rescue"

I just recently had a chance to be an extra on a TLC show "Randy To The Rescue". If you know Randy Fenoli from "Say Yes To The Dress" then you probably know it is his own TLC show! This last weekend he was in Oklahoma City, OK filming an episode and I jumped at the chance to be in it! I am a huge fan of his and love his work. He is an absolute doll! So sweet :) Here are some pics from my weekend:

~Randy & I~

~Outside getting ready to shoot some scenes before he arrives!~

~Randy arriving & saying his lines (funny thing-it started sleeting too!)~

~The couch where they filmed the bridal parties~

~Randy doing his thing!~

I was able to be an extra for 2 days...the first day, we just did stuff outside (cheering & waiting for him to arrive, him arriving, looking for wedding dresses) then they had 3 groups of 20 people come in at different times and do the "big reveal" scenes (3 different brides). The bride that I watched was a "Thunder girl" from the OKC Thunder basketball team. So much fun!

I am so excited that I had the opportunity to do this! It will be something I will never forget! :) I believe this episode will air late May/early June of this year! Can't wait to see it!

Well, thanks for stopping by...Have a great day!

Love,
Ruthie
