What's Your Favorite Halloween Candy?

My all time favorite Halloween candy is Candy Corn! I usually like to eat it plain but some people say that adding peanuts to it makes it EXTRA delish! It gives it a sweet and savory flavor!

But my ABSOLUTE favorite kind is the Candy corn pumpkins! I love how they are shaped like little pumpkins! Aren't they adorable?

I would love to hear what everyone's favorite Halloween treat is and what you like to pass out to Trick or Treaters!

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

~Taco Soup~

Happy Fall everyone! A couple ladies on here asked me if I would share my Mom's Taco Soup recipe so here it is! It is a warm and hearty meal to eat during the Fall and those cold winter months!

~Taco Soup~

1-1/2 lb Ground Beef
1/2 cup onion, chopped
28 oz. can tomatoes with juice
14 oz. can kidney beans
8 oz. can tomato sauce
7 oz. can corn, undrained
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 to 2 cups water
Salt & pepper to taste
1 cup cheddar cheese
Fritos

Brown beef, drain, add onions & taco seasoning. Cook until onions are tender.
Add all ingredients except cheese and Fritos. Simmer 15 minutes. Enjoy!

{I usually don't add the onions because the hubby and I don't really like them so I leave those out. We really don't miss them in the soup! We also love to add some sour cream as well!}

We love to make this on Halloween and eat this while handing out candy or during Football season the hubby likes to watch his football games and eat a big bowl of this warm and tasty soup! I hope everyone gives it a try! It has the consistency of chili...it is soo good!

Have a GREAT weekend!

Hooo Are you? MY ANSWERS!!

NightOwlCrafting

Here are this week's question?

1.What was your favorite meal growing up?
My favorite meal growing up would have to be my Mom's awesome Taco soup, which I now make in my very own home! It is my go to meal during the Fall and the cold winter months!

2. What's your favorite month? My favorite month would have to be July! It is my birth month plus it is summertime and it is warm weather!

3. What store is most represented in your wardrobe? A majority of clothes that are in my closet are from New York and Company (Lerner). I used to shop there all the time so alot of my clothes are from there but now I mainly shop at Cato, Maurices, and Rue 21 because they are closer to my house! LOL

4. How many times do you go to the movie theater each month/year?
I usually go to the movie theater about once a month or every 2 months...I don't usually go unless there is something I want to see really bad such as the Twilight Saga :) I mainly watch all of my movies through Netflix!

5. Fill in the blank- I've never been able to KNIT...I have wanted to learn so bad and I've tried before but it is so confusing to me! I think it would be fun to make beautiful scarfs and cute little hats but I just can't grasp how to do it :(

Spooky Halloween!!

This year I decided to add some "spookies" to my Halloween decor! I normally go with cute Halloween decor but I came across some cool spooky decor that I couldn't pass up! Here are a few things I decorated with...

This little guy took no time at all to make! I just got a wooden circle and a wooden candlestick from Hobby Lobby which I glued together and painted it up, I also used a wooden dowel and painted it up and glued on a crow that I found at Dollar Tree...He adds just the right amount of spookiness to my home!

This glass vase I made last year from a vase and a glass candlestick from the Dollar Tree and I then this year I added some spider webs and skulls which I also got at Dollar Tree...this is a cheap and easy project that takes a few seconds to make!

Here are some "Poison" bottles that I bought from my BFF Terrell who has a blog called "Frou Frou Decor"! She had these adorable little guys on her wonderful Esty site! Here is the link where you can buy your very own "Poison" bottle! She also has many other wonderful home decor items that you need to check out! Be sure to stop on by and see what she has!

I love Halloween and can't wait for the festivites to begin! My hubby and I will be dressing up so I will have to post pics of that later on! Thanks for stopping by and Have a great week!

Halloween Pedestal

While I was out shopping at a local Salvation Army store the other day, I saw this adorable wooden pedestal, and fell in love with it SOOO...I HAD to buy it! I really didn't like the brown wood color that it had, so I decided to give it a nice black paint job! I thought it would match with my Halloween decor if it was black! Here is what it looked like before:

Here is what it looked like after I gave it a smooth black coat of spray paint... and, of course, I aged it up a little bit too!

I added a skull I found at my local dollar store, some faux cobwebs, and a few spiders to give it a realistic effect...

Now I am already for Halloween! I have a few more other decorations that I want to share with you but I'll save it for another day! Thanks for looking! Have a great day!

HOOO Are You? MY ANSWERS!!

NightOwlCrafting

Here are this week's question and MY ANSWERS:

1. How tall are you? How tall do you WISH you were?
Unfortunely, I am a shorty...I am only 4'11" and my hubby is 6'4" so talk about an odd looking couple! LOL I would like to be at least 5ft so I reach more things! I guess it is good I have a tall hubby! :)

2. Do you have a birthmark? Where?
I do have a birthmark...it is on my left leg a little above the knee! It is about the size of a grape :)

3. What is your biggest money waster?
I would have to say the hubby and I waste so much money on food...we will buy stuff at the grocery store especially fruit and it rots before we have a chance to eat it!

4. What song are you tired of?
I am tired of the song "Hey There Delilah" by the Plain White T's...I feel like that song is soo over used! The radio stations ruined it for me!

5. What stresses you out most?
I think what stresses me out the most is saying "Yes" to many different activities and not feeling like I have enough time to do everything...I need to learn to say "NO" to somethings...

Five Question Friday! My answers!

Five Question Friday!

Questions for Friday, October 8th

1. What do you listen to while driving?
Usually a local radio station, sometimes a cd...what I have in my cd player is Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, a cd from my church, Little Big Town

2. What is your least favorite thing about Fall? My least favorite thing about Fall is knowing that winter is right around the corner...I hate driving in ice and snow especially when I have to drive 30 miles each way to work...it scares me knowing that I have to drive in bad weather!

3. What does your dream house look like, inside and out?
My dream house would be a large white plantation home with a long driveway that has trees creating a canopy across the driveway! I think it would be soo pretty to drive down a driveway like that every day! It would have a large yard and big beautiful trees creating great shade thoughout the yard. I would have a huge industrial size kitchen were I could create many custom cakes for family and friends. I would love a big organized craft/scraproom where I would have plenty of room to create stuff! I would have a really nice entertainment/media room for the hubby so he would have a cool place to hang out while I'll be in my craft room! :)

4. Would you ever own a minivan? Maybe once I start having kids...but I would probably have more of an SUV than a minivan!

5. Do you wash new clothes before wearing them? Not really...I PROBABLY SHOULD because you never know who had the clothes on before you but I don't...

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a GREAT weekend!

HOOO Are You? My Answers!

NightOwlCrafting

Here are this week's question?

1. If you could add one room to our house, what would it be?
2. How many pillows do you sleep with at night?
3. What is the best costume you've ever worn for Halloween?
4. If you could erase one item off the face of the earth, what would it be?
5. Where do you do your best thinking?

Here are my answers!

1. If you could add one room to your house, what would it be? It would have to be an industrial size kitchen where I could make more of my custom made cakes for my family and friends!

2. How many pillows do you sleep with at night? I HAVE TO sleep on two pillows. I can not stand to sleep flat on my back. I have to have my head above my body. I use to have alot of sinus problems when I was younger and I felt like I couldn't breath out of my nose if I was lying flat, so now that I am older, I am so use to doing that I just can't break myself of that habit!

3. What is the best costume you've ever worn for Halloween? I have two favorite costumes I've worn for Halloween so far...

This is a pic from last year...I was Ugly Betty! I LOVED that show so I saw this costume in a local costume shop and I HAD to get it!

This pic is from a couple years ago...I was Dora The Explorer! My company that I worked for has a costume contest every year and since I already had the hairdo..I thought I might as well go for it! I won 2nd place in our costume contest!

4. If you could erase one item off the face of the earth, what would it be?
People making fun of other people...That is one of biggest pet peeves! I don't understand why people do it and I guess they think it makes them feel good doing it but really they aren't hurting anybody but themselves! Nobody is better than anyone else...we are all people and we all have feelings.

5. Where do you do your best thinking? I really don't have a certain place...I usually come up with ideas wherever I am! I can be in a craft store, antique mall, my house, my car...it doesn't matter! The idea can hit me anywhere!

Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show 2010

This weekend in Tulsa, OK they had the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show (OSSAS) at the Tulsa State Fair. The OSSAS has been shown on The Food Network in the past and it has been a hit ever since! A few fellow cakers that live out of state came in and I met up with them and spent the last couple days enjoying the show! We got to meet each other for the first time and we got to meet alot of cool celebrities while we were there! I didn't enter anything in the show but I always go every year to see all the wonderful cakes that are made by such talented people! Here are some of the celebrity pics that I got while I was there! Of course...These are all cake celebrities!

Me and Richard Ruskell-He is Executive Pastry Chef at Montage Resort and Spa and he was doing sugar art demos all day long at the show!

Me and the founder of Cake Central, Jackie

Me, Joshua John, his assistant, and my friend Tina...Joshua just recently won the Cake Challenge on The Food Network!

Me and another Food Network Cake Challenge celebrity Jason Ellis

and last but not least...Me and Kerry Vincent (the director and co-founder of the Oklahoma State Sugar Art Show and a judge on The Food Network cake challenges)

I had soo much fun this weekend with all my new cake friends and I look forward to many more cake adventures!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
