~4th of July Decor~

I just love 4th of July, don't you? I love the red, white, and blue colors...I love hearing firecrackers and watching them burst in the sky...I love spending time with family and friends. It makes me feel so grateful that I am an American! We are so blessed to live in a country where we have Freedom! I normally try to decorate my house every year with 4th of July decor...I don't have alot of decorations but I do have a few that I would like to share with you! {I am hoping to add some more decor this year!}

~Uncle Sam-Isn't he cute?~

~My awesome flag jar that I found at a garage sale not to long ago!~

HOO Are You? My Answers!!

NightOwlCrafting

1. Do you decorate for the 4th of July? I usually do somewhat...I don't have alot of decorations but I plan to get more this year!

2. Do you you buy fireworks for the 4th of July? I don't ever buy fireworks but I've been with people who have...

3. How do you celebrate the 4th of July? We usually go with my family to the lake around the 4th and spend the weekend. We usually go outside down by the water and watch the fireworks display. But this year we will be at my sister-in-law's house in Alabama, so we will either go to a neighbor's house, or if they are in a burn ban, (which they might) we might just go to a show there in town!

4. Do you have a family member that is serving our country? I don't currently have family members serving but my Dad did back in Vietnam...he was in the army.

5. Do you dress in red, white, or blue on the fourth? Sometimes...I usually try to! I usually just go to Old Navy and get one of their 4th of July t-shirts and wear it!

~Grand 'Ole Flag~

Hello friends! I have really enjoyed looking at all the festive 4th of July decor that is out there in blogland right now! It is one of my favorite holidays and I love decorating my house with the patriotic colors! I just wanted to share a project that my BFF and I made many moons ago that I just absolutely LOVE!

What you need:

Blue fabric
Red fabric
White fabric
Clear buttons
White buttons
cardboard
Picture frame (we used a blue colored frame)

Directions:

1. Cut cardboard into a piece that will fit into your picture frame
2. Cut blue fabric into a 4x4 inch square
3. Cut red fabric and white fabric into 1" to 2" strips
4. Lay out the strips into a pattern that you like starting with a red strip
{2 red strips and 1 white strip need to be cut to 6" in length (those will go beside the blue square fabric) the rest of the strips need to be 10" in length}
5. Sew your clear and white buttons onto your blue fabric square to make "stars"
6. Glue your blue fabric and all your red and white strips onto your cardboard

There ya go...Easy peasy! A fun and festive 4th of July project that you will enjoy for years to come!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a lovely day!

Skyscrapers anyone?

Hello friends! This week I am a Head Teacher in a Pre-K class at Vacation Bible School at my parents church! The theme is "Big Apple Adventure" (New York)! One of the ideas to decorate our classrooms with is a skyline made out of cardboard boxes...SOOO...ME BEING THE CREATIVE PERSON (LOL), I called up one of my good friends and asked if he could get me some boxes I could use for this project! He was able to find some really good boxes I could use and they were just perfect for my project! They were the right shape and sizes that I needed! I painted those suckers up and with the help of my WONDERFUL HUBBY :) we cut out a bunch of white squares {out of paper} for the windows! We added a couple roofs to a couple of the buildings and we were good to go! They work out perfectly in my room and give it a big "New York City" feel to it!

I am so pleased with how they turned out! I have a friend who is currently redecorating her twin sons bedroom in a "Super Hero" theme and asked if she could take them {after I am done using them} to put in their bedroom! I think they will look adorable in their room! I am so glad that they are going to be reused instead of getting thrown away! It gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling! :)

Well, that is all folks! Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful evening!

~Branson, MO~

The hubby and I recently celebrated our 7yr wedding anniversary on Sunday (June 5th)! My how time flies! Here is a pic of us taken at Montana Mike's Steakhouse in Branson! Aren't we cute? :)

We decided we wanted to take a trip somewhere and was planning on going to Taos, New Mexico but with the recent wildfires we decided not to go there! We ended up going to Branson, MO since it is not far from home and there is alot of stuff to do! I haven't been there since I was in high school so it has changed alot! Here are some pics from several of the places that we went! Have a seat and take a look at our journey! :)

~Cakes N Cream Dessert Parlor-they had some amazing burger and fries! I heard they also have some awesome funnel cakes and ice cream!~

~The Hollywood Wax Museum~

~Bella and Edward-I ran into them in the Hollywood Wax Museum and HAD TO take their pic!~

~Me posing with the Wizard of Oz crew LOL~

~The Titanic Museum- this was the last attraction that the hubby and I did and it was SOO COOL! We are so glad that we did this!~
