"Pinterest Party"

My friend's church just had a "Pinterest Party" yesterday that I HAVE TO tell you about! We were suppose to bring either a soup or a salad, and then bring 3 things (sassy, homemade, or store bought) that cost $5 or less. When we got there, we put our 3 items on a table and put our name into a bucket 3 times. While we were eating lunch and watching a "Pinterest" inspired craft demo, they called names and each person got to get up and pick an item off the table! So much fun! I was going to make something as my 3 things that I brought, but I ended up finding some cute "Good Housekeeping Christmas Cookie" cookbooks that were $5 each at Kohl's. I ended up spending a few more dollars and bought 3 cute cookie cutters. I added red sparkly tulle and a cookie cutter to each cookbook! LOVE how they turned out!

They actually look better in person! I couldn't take a very good pic of it but you get the gist! :)

Here are my goodies that I ended up with at the end of the party! LOVE THEM! How fun, huh?

What a wonderful afternoon spent with great people, good food, and great fun! Such a neat idea for a party! I hope everyone gets inspired by this party as well!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

~Front Door Fall Wreath~

A few weeks ago, one of my good friends and I decided we wanted a beautiful Fall wreath for our front doors. So what did we do? We ran to our closest Hobby Lobby and got the supplies we needed to make this bad boy!

We got a grapevine wreath (which I found out I am allergic to!!), a fall garland, some flowers, a couple pumpkins, fall colored berries, and some pretty ribbon and we got started putting it all together! We first wrapped the fall garland around the grapevine wreath (hot gluing as we went) and then tucked in some fall colored berries (as filler). Then we took the flowers and pumpkins and glued them into place. Lastly, we made a wreath hanger with a fall colored ribbon that we bought so we could hang this beauty on our doors!

I think I might make a big bow to put on top of this beauty! I already have it hung up outside of my front door and it looks SMASHING! LOVE it even though I was allergic to it! LOL

I LOVE this time of year, don't you? Bring on the holidays!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great rest of the week!

~Coffee Filter Wreath~

Ok, so I jumped on the band wagon and made myself a nifty little coffee filter wreath!

I went to my nearest dollar store and got me a package of coffee filters (160 pack) and I found me a foam wreath form at the craft store. I grabbed my glue gun and started gluing the coffee filters on my wreath form. It is very time consuming so I suggest you watch a tv show {or two}, or watch a movie while working on it!

I also want to give you a heads up, if you make one, YOU MIGHT GET GLUE GUN BURNS! LOL BUT in the end, it looks so good, so it is worth it! :) I finished mine off with some jute ribbon & some burlap and it looks mighty fine if I do say so myself! I already have it hanging up in my dining room and it looks SMASHING!

Well, have a good rest of the week and have a GREAT weekend! I will be enjoying some "cooler" weather this weekend and I can't wait! Cheers!

~Halloween in August!? Halloween Tulle Wreath~

Ok, so I am a little ahead of the Halloween holiday but there is nothing wrong with that right??? :) I really love all the tulle wreaths that are out there in blogland & internetland right now, and I wanted to try my hand at one! I went to my nearest Hobby Lobby and picked me up a styrofoam wreath form, several rolls of tulle (whatever color I wanted my wreath to be), and got to work! I do have to say that I got a big wreath form, so it took about 4 rolls of tulle to totally cover it. Then I found the flowers at Michael's (which were actually napkin rings!) and they worked perfectly for this project! I just snipped the circle part of the napkin rings and was able to slide the flowers right on the wreath!

How cute is the crow!!? I found him in the Halloween section at Dollar Tree! I think he really completes my wreath! :) I am sooo excited to hang this guy up BUT I GUESS I have to wait another month or so :( LOL

Well, have a GREAT rest of the week and a GREAT Weekend! It is Labor Day weekend so that means a long weekend for me! EEK! (Doing the happy dance!) Stay safe!

~{Before & After} Ribbon Holder~

Hello ladies! I can't wait to show you my newest project that I just finished today! I must say this is a before & after project that I just love! I bought this towel holder at a local antique store...It was this bright green color {which don't get me wrong, it is not bad} but it really doesn't go with my decor. I saw this cute guy and knew he had potential!

So, I pulled out my paint and painted him a nice beige color. Then added a lovely wooden embellishment, aged it up a bit, and look how this beauty turned out! It's a lot different and so chic!

It is going to look FABULOUS with my rolls of ribbon on it and will make my craft room more organized! Gotta love that! :)

Thanks for swinging by and checking it out! Have a WONDERFUL week and stay cool!

~Jute Pen/Pencil holder & door hanger~

So I already showed you one of the crafts that my friend Angie and I did last weekend. Well, here is my 2nd project to make...I made a jute pen/pencil holder and a jute initial door hanger! They were super simple to make and ADORABLE too!

To make the pen/pencil holder, we just used a tin can like you would get from a can of vegetables or soup, wash it out, and then start gluing the jute to the can. It just takes a few minutes and it looks so cute! To embellish it, I just bought some cute fabric flowers from Hobby Lobby and used a brown colored ink pad to age up the edges of the flowers, then I hot glued them onto the can!

To make the jute initial door hanger, I did the same thing...I just started wrapping the jute around the letter, stopping every so often to hot glue the jute to the letter (just to make it secure). Super easy projects that look
very chic! I think they will look so adorable in my house! I can't wait to start using them! :)

Well, thanks for stopping by! I hope everyone has a BLESSED week!

I'm back! Post-It Notes project!

Hello ladies! It's been a while since I've been on here...taking a break I guess! I've been quite busy and I hadn't had time for crafting, but everything has slow down a bit :) My friend Angie and I got together this weekend to do a little crafting! We did a couple projects that I am excited to show you! We {first} did a Post-it notes project from drink coasters (like you get at restaurants) For example:

We added some scrapbook paper, pretty embellishments, and some other things and look how adorable these turned out!

These are mine:

These are hers:

These are ours together:

These are going to make ADORABLE little gifts for teachers, friends, co-workers, & family members! We found some more cardboard coasters in the $1 bin at Wally World yesterday so you can bet we are going to make some more! Good times ahead! My next project I will post in a later post, so stay tuned! :)

Thanks for stopping in and checking out our nifty project! Hope you have a GREAT week!

~Weekend finds~

So I have to tell you what I did this weekend! There is this AMAZING antique mall a couple towns over from where I live...I have to post a pic of it so you can see how big this place is! :)

It is the best place EVER to shop for goodies! My BFF and I would go all the time whenever we could, but since she moved away on me, I had to go all by myself this weekend! :( I was in search of some organizational items to use in my craft/scraproom and this was the place to go! Let me show you a few things I bought!

*This bad boy will be used to store all my rolls of ribbon!

*Not sure what I will use this for, but I bought one of these for decoration...maybe storage!

*Two of my favorite items! A wooden scoop and a lovely bucket that I will be using for decoration! How cute are they?!

*and last but not least, another favorite of mine...this lovely wooden rack that I will be using as a CD rack! It doesn't look like it in the pic, but it is a bright green color right now. I will eventually paint it a light grey color, and give it a shabby chic look!

You just don't know how excited I am to finally be able to get my craft room in order! I still have some more things to buy, but that will take time to find everything I need. :) It is a working progress! Stay tuned to see my lovely items get a "makeover"! I will be posting those in the next week or so!

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT week! :)

~Painting Class~

Ok, so I MUST tell you something that I did a couple weeks ago that was A BLAST! I am sure you've heard of those painting classes where you go by yourself, or with friends, and an artist guides you step by step in the nights featured painting? Well, I got the idea from a co-worker and thought it would be fun, so I signed myself up for an evening of fun, food, and painting! Being a person who is crafty and loves anything crafty...I LOVED IT!!

Here is a pic of me working on my painting! No I am not bored I am just really focusing on it! LOL

Here is a class pic! I am the one on the floor with black hair and a black shirt and I am sitting by the teacher! She was really nice!

It was so much fun that I will have to do it again! Can't wait until the next time!

Anyhoo, Thanks for stopping by! Have a WONDERFUL weekend! It is supposed to be storming here all weekend and possible tornadoes :(

Hoppy Easter!

Happy Easter! I hope everyone has had a wonderful & blessed Easter today and got to spend time with family and friends! :) I sure did! All my family came into town and we had a GREAT time! I was sad to see everyone leaving to go home!

Well, I wanted to show a little project that I did the other day that I am just now being able to post on here...My BFF and I bought these clear bunnies at the dollar store last year...

and we were planning to paint them, but we never did, and so I finally got around to painting mine this year! I took some acrylic paint that I had on hand and painted them a chocolate brown making them look like chocolate bunnies! I think they turned out adorable! I also put a little sheer ribbon around the necks to give them some pizazz! Here is out it turned out! :)

They look soo good I could almost eat them! Ok, well...maybe not! LOL I am so excited to be adding them to my Easter decor for next year! It was such an easy and cheap project that took literally no time at all to do!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a GREAT week!

~A Sneak Peek of the movie "Home Run"~

Ok, the movie producers of the up and coming movie "Home Run" just recently posted on Facebook a sneak peek of a couple of the scenes! This was the movie that was filmed here in Oklahoma (not far from my home) and I got to be an extra in it! This movie is about RECOVERY & FINDING GOD! I am so glad I got to be a part of it! Vivica Fox (Helene) is Scott Elrod's (Cory Brand) agent in the movie and after an accident due to his alcholism he is forced to go into a 12 Step program at a local church called "Celebrate Recovery"! Here are links to the scenes:

Helene finds a 12 step program

Step Study

I AM SOOO EXCITED ABOUT IT! I can't wait to see the finished product! It should be coming to theaters Baseball season 2012 (September of this year!) Alot of churches are promoting this movie and getting the word out! I hope alot of people watch it and that lives are going to be changed because of it! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a WONDERFUL day! :)
